New Year's Eve 2011

I rang in 2012 with my favorite little guy! We had a lot of fun for sure.

We started out just taking pictures (which he thinks he needs to be right on top of me for the picture to be a good one LOL)

Then he wanted to take "funny" pictures. He is obsessed with Ringo's treats. He always goes to the pantry and gets one out for him (even though Ringo is mostly not here *grins*) He decided to get creative with the Milk Bones.....

THEN we got tattoos. He's currently all about Captain Jack Sparrow so he loves anything pirate. Santa brought him pirate tattoos for Christmas so we had to get them tonight......ALL of them LOL!

One of his favorite shows right now is Kung Fu Panda......he was showing off his moves.....

We then settled down in our jammies to watch Scooby Doo and SpongeBob for a bit, heard the fire crackers going off but were too tired to actually go look at them. We both fell asleep with smiles on our faces. It was a fantastic New Year's Eve.

I wish each and everyone of you a very Happy New Year...all the best in the coming year. Bring on 2012!

This was an extremely good Christmas this year. We got to spend time with family, play with the kiddos and have a wonderful meal prepared by Mom. She is such a good cook! The only down note was that sister Betsy was missing.....and we DID miss her a lot! Maybe next year we can ALL be together!

This was my house before the excitement began. It didn't stay pretty for long *grins*

Landon and Bre came up and the chaos began. I LOVE Christmas though.....love to see the expressions on the kids' faces and the sheer joy in their hearts! Landon has become a fan of Captain Jack Sparrow this year so Santa brought him some pirate stuff.....and he wanted a shark air swimmer (which is bigger than he is....in fact i think it's bigger than their apartment LOL)

He also played Santa for mommy and gave her presents to her (he's a lot stronger than he looks because I could barely carry this dumb box *grins*. Then he wanted to get his picture taken with mommy. The cutest thing was at the end he told her "now let's pretend we're getting married and we can kiss" and he gave her a big kiss.....i was laughing so hard....................

Then we headed to Grandma Betty's for the afternoon....and some real chaos LOL. Our family is definitely overwhelming! First we had an absolutely delicious meal with Grandma...I swear she doesn't look OR act 81!

Then it was time for presents..........the little ones were absolutely adorable and you can see by the expressions on the faces that it was all worth it!

This little guy is rotten ornery and so darn adorable!

Such determination.....they played for hours *grins*

and Landon NEVER gives up....i ♥ him.

Bre had to fill Matt in on what he missed. He had to work, but got to join us later.

As I said, it was a fabulous Christmas this year. I am so blessed with my family. I couldn't ask for more!

Landon spent the night with Mimi last night..........poor little guy just never knows the manner in which he will be awaken in the morning *grins*. I'd LOVE to know what he was thinking (then again, maybe i don't wanna know) LOL

I am so thankful for the time i get to spend with him. This morning he wasn't feeling real great...had a tummy ache :( Love you buddy! Feel better soon.

I took this first one with my 50mm lens. I tried to show the size of the web....not too big is it *grins* I processed these with the new MCP presets for Lightroom.....this is the Hi Ho Cherry O (love the names of them LOL)

Then I switched to my 105mm macro lens and ended up with these shots. I love macro shots......

I bought these new presets from MCP Actions and I absolutely adore them! These are so easy to use and I love all the looks you can get from them.

I'm into black & whites these days and here are a few of Landon concentrating on playing in the sand and blowing bubbles edited with Rum Raisin.

I finally got out to shoot some stuff. It was a gorgeous morning, and this spider web was glistening in the beautiful morning sun. I hope to be able to shoot more often now that work is slowing down a little.

I got to spend some time with Landon today too......this is what he looks like a couple days after the collision he had at school. He looks bad, but at least he had no concussion or fractures or anything. I ♥ him so much !

We had a great time hanging out today......it was nice so we played outside for a good while. First he set a minnow trap in the pool next door and had to keep checking it *grins*. I LOVE his imagination.

Then he wanted to pose for me......he's the Terminator (john conner) now......last month he was a ghostbuster *grins* I just love little boys LOL

He finally did stand still long enough for me to get a couple fairly decent shots. He's so darn quick I have a hard time keeping up with him.

Porch Makeover

I've been working on this porch for a while now......still not completed but I've only a couple things left to do. I bought a swing and some of the parts were missing from the box. Working with the manager now to either get the parts or a new swing.

Painted, got new mats and furniture, some knick-knacks.....

I love sitting out there in the evening and swinging.....now all I need is a swing *grins*

I can't believe it's already July 3.....what happened to the month of June?

Bubs was up last night and he is a definite trip. He is no longer a ghostbuster....he is now John Connor. Last night he did his exercises *grins* and then fixed his hair to make himself handsome so I could take his picture. He picked all his poses on his own *grins* I can't tell you how much I love this little man.

The photos are not the best because I was basically playing around with high ISO and very low light but his personality and story come thru!

This last one is his "serious" pose without smiling LOL........

They are giving away a seat in their Natural Light 101 Workshop. I would LOVE to win a seat in this workshop. I attended the Studio Light 101 Workshop and it was awesome. I can only hope that I may have the opportunity to attend.

I love these two little ones! They are so much fun, and such beautiful babes. Baby B wasn't real happy today because mommy woke him up from his nap in the car *grins*

B tolerated me snapping a few of him but he definitely did NOT want to be put down *grins*

Memorial Day

What an absolutely beautiful day.....well, I could have done without the heat but the sun was out all day and that was a plus. Especially after all the clean up we did in the basement *grins* I got to spend the day with 2 of my favorite little people....Savannah and Bryson (better known as Baby B) lol!

We had a delicious dinner (thanks to Pen) and refreshing drinks (thanks to Bren) and a lot of laughs thanks to the kids.

The kids did a little swimming.....

Baby B went for a walk on the path..........

Katie didn't win cornhole *grins* ...............

And Savannah did a little posing for me *grins*. I LOVE her!

Pre K Graduation

Oh Lord......he's getting SO big. He's not a baby anymore :(

The class filed in the room....and of course mommy cried *grins*

After they all got in the room, each child gave his mom a rose.....very touching.

The kids sang several songs that they learned....it was extremely entertaining. Landon had a fascination with his tassel *grins* I LOVE the faces he was making lol

The last thing they did was sing an ABC song which they "signed" to. I was very impressed that these kids (at age 4 and 5) can sign the entire alphabet.

I want to take this opportunity to thank Miss Carmen and Miss Tammy for all the hard work and effort they put into both this graduation ceremony as well as the class all year long. These kids love them and it is well deserved!

I couldn't resist this one......he was actually very good during the program. Each child received a personalized award....Landon's was the "most improved". He was so proud :)

he's definitely not Mimi's baby anymore.

I'm so proud of him. He has come a long way since the beginning of the year. After a fun summer he will be off to a new adventure at the "big school"! I love you Landon!

I think Landon totally enjoyed his birthday party! Yesterday his mommy surprised him with a party with his school friends at McDonalds....he had a blast. Then the family got together at his house today for cake and ice cream.....he definitely enjoyed his presents *grins*

Then it was time for cake and ice cream.....ok the kids only wanted ice cream but it was good!

Whew! I've been absent for a while. I have been busy, busy, busy......getting a ton of new stuff ready for the Shoppe. I'm so excited for this overhaul to the PD Creations Handmade Treasures etsy store. I'm gonna be listing all the new stuff over the weekend. I hope people are interested! It was a gorgeous day today......warm and sunny. I was thrilled to be able to sit out and soak up the sun. I've been sick for so long I had forgotten what it was like to actually feel GOOD! My buddy came up for a bit and he was delighted to play outside......

And of course he had to ride his scooter..................

I have this metal lawn art....chickens and several other things....he LOVES them! He as talking to this guy today and singing with him LOL

It started to cloud up so we went in to watch some TV....of course the only thing he wanted to see was Sponge Bob. *grins* We watched for a bit and we played for a bit....then he wanted some ogrit (yogurt for those of you who don't speak 4 year old LOL) After that he laid on the floor and watched while eating a rice crispie treat.

It was an absolutely wonderful day all the way around. I got some Landon time and some sunshine. I think I'm ready to face another week at work *grins*

We have been trying for several weeks to get together for Ms. Savannah's birthday. We finally made it Sunday. It was great to spend time with the kids....it's been a while and I've missed them.

Missy had a good time.....we opened presents and had cake and ice cream...well ok cupcakes but they loved it.

The kids had a great time playing.....the best part was sliding down the steps on their butts *grins* Landon has definitely missed Savannah too....he's been asking for her for week now LOL

Baby brother had a good time too. This little bouncer has definitely been worth it....all of the kids loved it at one time or another.

Each of these children have the most amazing eyes.......and baby Bryson is no exception. His eyes are huge and so blue!

It was a really nice day and I certainly hope it's not as long between visits again. The kids grow way too fast anyways. When you don't see them for a bit they are like different kids *grins*

I love crafts of all sorts. I recently purchased a rolled rose die to make these gorgeous paper roses. I decided to try my hand at them last night. When I first started I felt so awkward and they looked like Landon had made them. LOL

I couldn't sleep this morning so I got up and started making them again. The longer I rolled, the more comfortable it became. These didn't turn out too bad and I have a beautiful rose garden now LOL

Now I just have to get my behind in gear and make some cards to put these lovlies on *grins*

This was a creativity exercise on Clickin Moms.....the digital tilt shift. It was very interesting. I can't wait to take a photo from a higher floor looking down at the street..........should be very entertaining.

Macro Shots

I love macro photography...so much so that I joined a 52 Macro project at Clickin Moms. You post 1 macro shot a week for 52 weeks. Hopefully I'll be able to keep up with them *grins*

I started out trying to capture a water drop. Man this is a LOT harder than I thought it would be. The timing has to be perfect and obviously I don't have it LOL. After about an hour of trying, this was the best shot I got so I quit that and moved on to something else *grins*

I decided to get out the spray bottle and a cd and i ended up with some pretty decent shots. Well at least I like them *wink*

I got bored pretty easily so I whipped out a dropper from one of Landon's old medicine bottles, cleaned it and played with drops with blue food color......

Then I decided to add some food color to the water in the spray bottle.......

This was the end.....I ran out of ideas and started getting a headache so I was done LOL

We had a full house this year for Christmas....it was just like old times. Good food, family and good fun! We even had a little snow for the day. The kids were so excited all day. Landon got his own camera...which in his words was "unbelievable" and he took about 500 pictures LOL Here are just a few snapshots of our day.....

I am so excited to participate in this contest. I absolutely ADORE Florabella Textures and Actions. I own them all *grins* These are my most used actions, and definitely my go-to textures! No matter what mood you want to achieve, Florabella actions and textures definitely do the trick!

For this one I used the Wildflower action from the Spring Set I actions, and the textures are French Canvas (warm) and Vignette Overlay from Textures I.

This one features Mademoiselle action from the Luxe Set, as well as Raw Sugar (b&w) and Cherish (cool) from the Textures I set.

The ladies from I Heart Faces are the judges in a photo contest at Love Your Shot. They’re having a Link-Up photo contest in which the prize is a $100 gift card to Florabella Actions and Textures. The theme is “Your Favorite Faces” and this is definitely one of my favorites...My grandson. He insisted on a "spike" and then pictures after *grins*. I ♥ him!

This was shot with a Nikon D90 with ss 1/160 @ F/5.6, and AB400 at 1/8 power to camera right. I edited in Lightroom for basic edits. Took it into PS for applied FloraBella's Cosmopolitan action at 40% and the scratched vintage I texture.

've been busy at work and did have time to work on these until today. Landon had so much fun on Labor Day at our picnic. He had lots of things to do that day.

He loves to ride his bike......

Aunt Brenda got him a Moon Sand play set. He had a blast playing with this...

He also loves to run........constantly on the go....................

He also loves to blow bubbles, and golf, and play in the rocks.....

I love to get together with the family. We always have a great time...cooking out, playing cards and just generally having fun! I thank God for my family every day :)

Time is definitely flying by. It seems like just yesterday Bretina was bringing Landon home from the hospital. He was such a little guy....quiet and slept alot. Well....he doesn't sleep that much anymore and he's definitely NOT quiet *grins* He's a rowdy little boy who is definitely 100% boy and I love him with all my heart! My little guy is growing up so fast...he starts pre-school tomorrow! I love you Landon...Good Luck in school!

Cotton Candy

My brother developed a bad case of pneumonia over the weekend. He ended up in the hospital ICU with a LOT of problems on Sunday. He is starting to respond to treatment and recovering. I'm sure it'll take a while but at least he's recovering. Thanks to everyone's thoughts and prayers for Mike...it is truly appreciated.

I have discovered that I am definitely a "prime" gal. I have primes ranging from 24 to 105mm and I love each and every one of them. My 35mm hasn't left my camera since I purchased it.....i ADORE it!

Consequently, I have several zooms which I am selling. I have a Sigma 28-300 F/3.5-6.3 Macro...perfect condition...asking $175.00

A Tamron 70-300 F/4-5.6 Macro...perfect condition...asking $100.00

A Nikon 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6 VR AF-S...perfect condition...asking $275.00

I have used each of these lenses just a handful of times. Enough to know that I prefer primes.

I also have a Sigma 30mm F1.4 AF DX for sale. It's in perfect condition and I paid $429.00. I'm asking $375.00 for this one. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my 35mm lens.

Having Faith

I think having faith is the MOST important thing a person has going for them. Sometimes your faith is tested in ways you can't understand...sickness, loss, misfortune. But with faith you can overcome these tests. The next few weeks are going to be very trying times but I have faith that this too will turn out the way it should.

Landon spent the night with me last night. I can not say with words how much I love this little guy. Just the thought of him brings a smile to my lips and a lightness to my heart. My time with him is always special and he never fails to make me laugh. Thank you God for blessing me with this special little angel :)

This morning we did the thing he likes to do the most....watched Sponge Bob *grins* I love how much excitement he has and the expressions on his face crack me up. He's seen these so many times he probably knows them all by heart but we still watch them. And he still laughs with as much enthusiam as if it's the first time he's seen it LOL

Playing Barber Shop

I can't tell you how much I love this little guy....tonight mommy had a migraine so he came to see Mimi for a while. We played barber shop *grins* First he had to put water in a glass and wet his hair with his comb. Then he styled for about 10 minutes with water *grins*. Then out came the hair dryer for another 10 minutes. Then he checked himself out in the mirror and messed his hair with his fingers and declared himself "beautiful" LMBO!

I forgot to mention that the scotch tape all over him is his Iron Man costume....LOVE his imagination LOL

I'm so excited. I found this e-course called the Creativity Boot Camp and I can't wait for it to start! It's a two-week "course" which runs from June 5 thru June 18 designed for people who wish to take the next step in their creative lives. Whether you need a creative boost, need the motivation to begin that large creative project, or simply wish to lead a more creative life, the exercises provided in this course will help to pave the way for maximum creativity in your life. I'm psyched to get my creative juices flowing...to see just where I can go from here. Hopefully in two weeks I'll have a new outlook and be able to take it to the max! We shall see *grins*. Becky Earl has been a photography inspiration of mine for quite a while now. Her photography is so emotional and just downright gorgeous! I have been stalking her blog for so long that I feel like I know her. Of course, it could be that that is exactly how she makes readers feel.....like she's talking right to you.

As I sat here this weekend feeling sorry for myself and throwing my own pity-party I was surfing and found this entry by Becky. As I read this, I sat here with tears in my eyes and feeling shame. It is amazing how someone else's accomplishment can put your own life into perspective for you. Please take the time to visit Becky's blog (http://beckyearlphotography.com/blog/) and read her story.

Becky, thank you for helping this grandma to see things differently and realize that I am the only one who can do what needs to be done to change things. Landon's 4th Birthday

My buddy celebrated his 4th birthday a couple days ago. He was so darn excited. He showed Aunt Brenda his cake and then said..."it's mine, don't touch it" *grins* He got everything he wanted...and was so excited he didn't know what to play with first. He got a work bench, a lawn mower, a scooter, a guitar and his own camera. He was terribly pleased with the camera. He wants to be like Mimi LOL

Vacation

I just got home from the most wonderful vacation! My mom and sisters and I rented a cabin the the Smokies in Tennessee. It was absolutely WONDERFUL!

We made a stop in Princeton, WV to visit our cousin Mike. We made a trip over to Pipestem State Park where it is gorgeous for sure.

Then we drove to our cabin in Sevierville, TN. It was just wonderful. We had a jukebox and pool table. It was very comfy.

We were there for four days. We attended a show at the Dixie Stampede which was great. The show was fantastic and the dinner was awesome. The first time in my life I was served dinner without utensils. We ate with our fingers *grins*. We walked on a trail.....

Took a drive up into the mountains. Oh my gosh the views were just breathtaking.

We visited a really cool aquarium. This catfish was about 4 ft long.

This tank was full of tropical fish. When the diver went in to feed them, they all swarmed around her.

And the sharks were just fascinating. Their "faces" cracked me up. They are definitely beautiful creatures.

And then there were the stingrays. Impressive and funny at the same time. They are definitely huge but they were so funny when they came over to the glass and slid down it. Surely did entertain us anyways LOL

All in all it was a fabulous vacation. Lots of R & R, laughs and fun. I look forward to doing it again! Thanks to both my sisters and Mom for making it a great time.

Happy Mother's Day

It's not said often enough how important your mother is. Throughout my entire life, Mom has always been there to gently nudge me in the right direction. There were times I could have used a full body slam, but Mom always said it was my life and I needed to live it as I saw fit. Mom was always there, whether or not I chose the right path...always supportive, always positive and never judgemental. Mom was the one person I could always count on to love me unconditionally...my rock. I have been so blessed to have Mom in my life. On this day, her special day, I want to thank her for her love and support and to tell her how very much she means to me...my mother, my protector, my best friend. I love you Mom!

i just love these guys *grins*. We were stuck inside yesterday because it was raining raining raining. It's amazing the things kids will think are funny and fun to do *grins*

We played on the floor with Grandma Betty, we did somersaults, played with Ringo and drew. They were like energizer bunnies for the entire day. This grandma needed a nap when they all went home LOL
